What is "Game Changers" Sunday Skills?

Game Changers is a once-a-week skills building session at North Saanich Middle School, there are two groups: A (runs 11:30 am - 1:00 pm) which is primarily U11 and some U13 and B group (runs 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm) which is U13, U15 and U18. It is an excellent opportunity for your child to grow their individual game, and play with more peers (not just the ones on their team).

What is the cost of registration?

Cost of registration is $300.00 before August 15, 2025 $350.00 after.

What is Rec Tec? I already signed up for TeamSnap.

Rec Tec is the platform that the Victoria District Basketball Association (VDBA) is using to track waivers and organize games among teams, VDBA is the umbrella organization where we play games, SPABA is a club made of different teams. Rec Tec is new this year and if you are having any issues, please Contact us ASAP.

Can I make team requests?

You are welcome to register with requests for coach, location, and time based on what is available. These details are subject to change as the game and practice schedules are released, as well as commitments by coaching volunteers. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

When does the season start/end?

The basketball season runs September to early March.

How many players per team?

There is at least 8 players on the team. U11 has four players on the court and U13, U15 and U18 is five players.

What is the last day to register?

Last day of registration is the Friday before the September long weekend.  Late registrations may be accommodated up to November 15th based on team availability.   If the team is full when you register, please be sure to add your child to the wait list and SPABA will contact you within the week.  Please be sure to email the registrar that your child is on the wait list.

What is the last day to withdraw?

Last day to withdraw is September 30th for 100% refund. No refunds will be given after September 30.

I have a problem with practice times and/or game times?  Who do I contact?

Does SPABA provide a uniform?

SPABA provides a jersey to wear (it will need to be returned at the end of the season). Black shorts and a white t-shirt (for under the jersey) will need to be provided by the player.

What days and locations are practices?

This will vary from year to year. Practices are held at either Bayside Middle School or North Saanich Middle School.

What nights are games and where are they played?

This will vary from week to week. Practices are held at either Bayside Middle School or North Saanich Middle School. Games are done through Victoria and District Amateur Basketball Association. Games are played at schools in Victoria.
